This marriage in Lacock produced 4 children, Joseph, William, Sara and John
We are guessing that the marriage was about 1775 but could even be after the children were baptized in 1803.

Over the last few months we have discovered a John and Elizabeth
Townsend who were married in the village of Laycock, which is only a
few miles down the road from Derry Hill and Bremhill in Wiltshire.
They were married in 1791 and had four children baptised there over
the next few years. They were Joseph 1792, William 1795, Sarah 1798
and John 1801. Could this John and Elizabeth from Laycock have been
the parents of our twins George and Mary who were baptised in 1801
in Bremhill, it should be noted that sometimes there were several
months or years between the actual birth and baptism date. We are
waiting for a new CD that will index the 1841 census hoping that
it might provide an answer to this question!! |
